Bringing the Vikings back to life
Sense the atmosphere! Experience what it was like to live here 1,000 years ago, when many Vikings arrived as newcomers and the harbour teemed with activity. Meet Vikings busily going about their daily lives. They cook, make clothing and fix tools while their children play, running in and out of many different houses full of authentic details. You can board a Viking longship. It has recently returned from a voyage and the traders’ baskets are full of exciting wares. At the Viking sacrificial grove, you can make offerings to the Norse gods and light a candle in the wooden church. Pop along to the Vikings’ new watermill. It is still under construction. The Vikings were inspired by things they saw on their voyages to distant shores. Don’t miss the new exhibition: “Out and back – from artisans to merchants”.

When the awe-inspiring Vikings are home from a voyage, they train to prepare themselves for battle. On the warriors’ playground at Bork Viking Harbour, you can let off steam with their training equipment and determine once and for all which member of your family really is the strongest. In the Viking Hall, children can dress up as Vikings, play games the Vikings once played, draw and paint a real Viking drawing or go in search of runes on the Viking harbour.
